• SUMMARY
MC (Kim Min-saeng): Please, welcome Ms. Song Hye-kyo.
MC: It is fine today. Is this the first time that you are here in Myeong-dong? (Myeong-dong is a major shopping and fashion district in Seoul).
Hye Kyo: It seems the weather is very nice today. This isn't my first time at Myeong-dong but it has been a while...maybe 4 to 5 years ago my friends and I came here to hang out. Of course, we disguised ourselves then. Since then, it appears things have changed a lot.

MC: Are you okay? There are so many people around here.
Hye Kyo: Yes, a big crowd. I'm loosing my mind. (laughs)
MC: You look rather thin.
Hye-kyo: I’ve lost some weight due to the shooting of Hwang Jin Yi. It was a great challenge to me because I have never engaged in a history drama or movie before. It is a new genre. Moreover, I feel heavy responsibility because so many people worked hard to make a great movie.

MC: Since I was meeting Hye Kyo sshi, I had to borrow this vest.
Hye Kyo: Ahhh, you usually wear this kind of style, don’t you?
MC: No, I don't have anything like this...ahh it's too expensive. I borrowed this one.
Hye-kyo: I am also presented some dresses from (PR-conscious) garment makers sometimes.

MC: You are boyish. You’re not girlish. (laughs)
Hye-kyo: Yes. I am feminine. I may not be girlish only when I come across you (laughs)

MC: When are you most happiest?
Hye Kyo: I'm happiest when I'm with the people I love and chat with them about a variety of issues including popular TV programs like “Guerrilla-type Data” and “Mapagi.”

MC shouts toward the crowd: Song Hye-kyo is so beautiful. Isn’t she?
The crowd shouts back: “Yes. She is beautiful.”
Two youths stepped forward and came close to Hye-kyo and cried out: “Song Hye-kyo Is really beautiful.” They then happily took pictures along with SHK one by one. They wished Hye-Kyo a huge success of Hwang Jin Yi.

(SHK now sits at a café in front of City Hall. A large film promotion sign is hung over a building nearby)

MC: In 1996, you won a model contest?
Hye Kyo: Yes.
MC: A model contest?
Hye Kyo: For student uniform...
MC: I was very much surprised ( to know that you’ve become a fashion model)
Hye Kyo: It was for a student uniform of course. Not a supermodel! (laughs)

MC: What was the turning point in your acting career?
Hye Kyo: "Endless Love” (Autumn Tale). I was wondering which course I should take, a sitcom actor or melodrama actor? I was at a crossroads. In the end, I became a melodrama actor and appeared in the Endless Love. (SHK starred in the popular sitcom, “Sunpung Clinic,” before appearing on the now internationally famous miniseries, “Endless Love” of 2000. She was then a high school girl.)

MC: Which do you like better, work or love?
Hye Kyo: I prefer work now but it'll be love when I cut my second teeth. [Meaning later she'll choose 'love' over work]
MC: How many children will you have after getting married?
Hye Kyo: I think I will have 2-3 kids.
MC: Really?! Song Hye-kyo sshi?!
Hye Kyo: Because I was the only child, I was very lonely. It seems (we) need at least 2 or 3 kids.

Hye Kyo: Today was a lot of fun. Thanks for all of the love. Please come to see "Hwang Jin Yi" June 6th. Thank you. Stay healthy!
