"Even now I still get cyber bullied on the internet about being short. I wish I were taller. However, I am not a model. I am envious of a perfect body line, but even if I had that, I would not be Song Hye Kyo."

[Edited for typos]

“She disliked for me to be greedy.”

Song Hye Kyo, who after four years is making her return to the big screen with Today, shared the words from her mother that she has kept in her heart ever since childhood. Recently, No Cut News met with Song Hye kyo, and was impressed with what she revealed as her mother’s words of wisdom.

She said, “Ever since elementary school, my mom always told me, ‘You tried it, but if it did not work out, then it was not for you’ and ‘Do not be greedy, instead let yourself wander towards where it flows.’ I began my work activities in my first year of high school and that is when those words were even more emphasized.”

Well, if it is like that, then does that mean Song Hye Kyo, who has already been enthroned as an Asian star, has no greed to become a world star? Song Hye Kyo replied, “I am only greedy with projects that fall in my hands” and she said with a laugh, “Wouldn’t it be nice if I became a world star?”

She added, “But, I still have so much to do in Korea as well. If we work hard living today then naturally, good results will appear. Also, aren’t a lot of Korean movies going abroad now?” She displayed a positive attitude as she spoke.

When asked her criteria for choosing work, she explained, “If each moment is meant to be, then I will do it,” and “I do not draw the future.”

Meanwhile, Song Hye Kyo signed a contract with global agency, Effigies, based in Paris, France last May. Effigies also represents actress Robin Wright Penn, and French actress, Charlotte Gainsbourg.

A representative for Song Hye Kyo spoke with No Cut News via telephone on October 20th explaining, “She was first offered a contract in fall of last year. During that time, we were not in a situation to immediately participate in any activities after signing the contract, so after thinking it through for about a year, we signed the contract in May.”

The representative also stated, “They are not an agency who goes for short term. She will not be entering into European films and advertisements immediately. However, it is noteworthy that Song Hye Kyo is the first Asian actress to sign a contract with them.”
